The Bagman (Sega Mega Drive) [Homebrew]

There is another horror adventure game being released for the Sega Mega Drive, following the tradition of the homebrew Sacred Line duology. However this game looks much more like Comix Zone in it’s presentation. Just how well will it manage to pull of the horror atmosphere, we will have to wait and see. This game already looks a bit too creepy for my liking, having that bag being made from human skin parts is a bit beyond my limits. I think that’s a touch extreme for a 16-bit video game like this. Hopefully the actual story that you experience in gameplay is not so… intense. There’s not really much to say about this game as it’s still very early days. The game has only just reached a point where some part of is presentable, which in this case is the few screenshots that we have access to. I’m always for more adventure games on 16-bit consoles even if they are full-on creepy horror games.

This game will also be available as a PC / Windows game via purchase and download on the Steam platform. The game was inspired by 80’s slasher flicks and Clock Tower on the Super Nintendo [Super Famicom]. So it’s likely to be a combination of Survival Horror and Adventure game mechanics much like Clock Tower. The color palette of the game carries the drab atmosphere of a horror game well with the Sega Mega Drive colors perfectly complementing this type of palette. If this game actually makes it to completion I think it has the potential to make a pretty decent game, so long as it doesn’t get too gruesome. There is no release date or price set for the game yet. Will keep you all posted when I hear anything more about this project.
