Sega's 65th Anniversary Seiko Collaboration
Sega is one of the biggest and most recognizable names in gaming. It began in 1960 in as Service Games Japan and has gone through many changes since. It became a gaming giant after finding success in the arcade industry. From it’s humble beginnings with it’s first console the SG-1000 it’s systems were part of the gaming landscape for many decades. The last console released by Sega was the Dreamcast which was unable to compete with the PlayStation and Nintendo 64. During it’s time in the video gaming industry it had become a household name and was the source of treasured gaming memories for countless gamers.
Though Sega has left the home console market they are still alive and well, producing video games for new generation consoles. Sega will officially turn 65 years old on June the 3rd of 2026. To celebrate their 65th anniversary Sega has collaborated with the watchmaker company Seiko to produce a commemorative time piece. The watch is very attractive with designs in both black and silver. The numbers and design of the watch face is in typical Sega style using the iconic Sega font. Sonic’s head is visible on the bottom sundial.
Both models are available for pre-order from Sega Japan for 71,500 Yen or $657 AUD ($465 USD).
