Not quite but probably the closest thing to it that exists on the Super Nintendo. Piko Interactive, a modern day retro game publisher which focuses’ on preserving games by releasing physical (and digital) titles on old consoles and new retro platforms such as Evercade has just purchased the rights for two unreleased games for the Nintendo Entertainment System and the Super Nintendo. The games are both from the developer Equilibrium – Defector (NES) and Warrior of Rome III (SNES). They are known for releasing games primarily during the early 1990’s including Road Riot 4WD (SNES, Arcade, Atari ST), The Flash (GB DMG) and Capcom’s MVP Football (SNES). For whatever reason Defector and Warrior of Rome III were completed but not released and Piko Interactive purchased the rights with the intention of releasing them as physical titles. The first two games in the Warrior of Rome series were released for the Sega Mega Drive / Sega Genesis in Japan and North America by Micronet in 1991 and 1992. The NES game Defector is a Bezerk type game which can be played by up to 4 players simultaneously. That’s good news and some decent games to look forward to for fans of the NES and Super Nintendo.
